BLANK CANVAS Intensive 2014 runs between 14 July and 29 August with each project in residence for two weeks. The visiting artists will offer professional classes and each residency will end with a sharing of research so that Firkin Crane’s audience can see what’s beginning to emerge.
The next Sharing will consist of two short works-in-progress from Wanjiru Kamuyu and Emma Fitzgerald..

Later that week, we will have the opportunity to see Spiral, a solo by Kenyan American choreographer/dancer Wanjiru Kamuyu.

Make this the year when you get your toes in order - Firkin Crane provides a wide variety of dance and movement classes, for all ages and abilities, from tiny tots to professional performers. They vary from regular, weekly classes to specialist workshops by visiting artists.

In our historic rotunda building you can make, see and participate in dance all year round, with a constantly changing programme, ranging from ballet to contemporary, hip hop to swing, and everything in between. Dance Interactive is a multi-media exhibition space at the heart of Firkin Crane’s historic building. Exhibitions change regularly, giving visitors the chance to experience the diversity of dance in different media. Visitors can immerse themselves in a dynamic environment featuring interactive installations, photographic exhibitions and dance film-work. Proposals for exhibitions and installations are invited from all disciplines.
